Wishing to be there w/y'all. My heart (in my throat) sure is! Had to choose which media, what blogs/channels to cover the story. Early in the day, CNN and MSNBC were a mess. CNN going psychoRepugnant, MSNBC frenetic fluff nonstories deliverd by aggravating indistinct mealymouthed pressbots. PUSH, PUSH, Pushing the clinton/obama drama as a big wah-wah so much I snuck a look at at the unbalanced Fox.

Early in the day, pre -gavel, Fox was right there calm w/ good reportage, calling the so called dust up to be a Hill(ary) of beans, media chasing their tales, noted that the seating of Mich and Fla. was scheduled and planned, etc. I was waiting for Bizzaro Superman to fly down, "ME thinks Convention good, Fox, too??"

Things got back to normal later, MSNBC was still tediously predictable until Pat (on the butt) Buchanan spewed one too many defenses of MCCain which exploded Raechal Maddow's head, spewing beautiful but deadly to rhetoric flowers to cover the grave lies. What an asset she is going to be with a daily show.

I think it was she who reproted that the Hillary supporter who had made the new McCan't commercial was asked if she knew McCain was not pro-choice and was perplexed, protesting that he was! That'll make a great response spot if they have the tape!

Also the "Hillary protesters" at the MSNBC booth had a Republican scent to them, right through the TV SCreen!

The Daily Show, itself was a dissappointment, they had a repeat show tonight, when I had hoped for live coverage, and the website was lite too, I was Biden my time with an old interview of his.

To get back in a positive frame I googled Colberts White House Correspondent's Dinner speech, which got me right on the mood for more Hope not Fear.

I travelled to DailyKos and was not amused and moved back to the TV where the world, or at least the pressbot anchors had found their equilibrium. Scarbourough and Keith were scummy to each other not chummy which was fine with me (again weird, hero Keith had hair out of place!), I can't hack Sleazy Joe.

I guess I found my equilibrium, or at leat the librium part, and headed to the best coverage, C-SPAN, of course, and Jim Lehr on PBS.

More on Scum: I did flip back just after Michelle's grand performance to find the Juan Williams had been moved to tears, overwhelmed by the history and dignity of the moment. I was truly surpised to find to tin man did have a heart. So was Brit Hume who was ready for the typical pillory but actually respected the sincerity of Juan's reaction and asked some sensitive questions,. I KNOW?! Reality set in when that poison pen and bloodied hand that is Kristol said that it was a pedestrian speech and that his largest dissappointment was that "his alma mater, Harvard" wasn't mentined by our woman of the people, the next first lady.

The other really vile, disgusting show was Larry King with "the Republican point of view". Horrid stuff not worthy of repeating just worthy of noting.

O, yeah, Bill Mahr on MSNBC solidly, solidly, yes even more solidly than Hillary, committing support to Obama. A shock to see Bill being sincere, straightforward and so solid, sober.

Last scibble tonight being appreciation of what a grand tough son of a bitch Ted is. The Lion in late Summer still carrying us around on his shoulders.

One commentator,l and I'm sorry for being unable to credit, noted that Kennedy erased the clinton/obama division by evidencing that they children of the same line. The dream does go on.

What hasn't been covered much, except tto say that the numbers were few, were the various street goings on. One crawl mentioned pepper spray 1 mile from the Psi-Center. Also a crawl about 3 men w/ rifles at Obama's Hotel?

Wish I was there. Thanks to you for representing us.
